Arno Boon ( Amsterdam 1964) currently lives in the Dutch city of Wageningen. This is where he studied plant sciences at the University of Wageningen. After his studies he was a journalist with regional newspaper The Gelderlander and worked for the university publisher Cereales in Wageningen. Since 1985 Boon has been involved in the re-use of several monuments, including the old brick factory De Bovenste Polder in Wageningen.
He has been the director of BOEi since 2002, a national institute for the restoration and re-allocation of cultural heritage. He is also a board member of the federation for conservation; Het Behouden Huis. Boon is co-initiator of news platform De Erfgoedstem, where news about monuments, archeology and cultural landscape is featured. As a board member of Stichting Nederland Monumentenland, he is involved in the open monuments days, the national monuments congress and the cultural heritage fairs.
